A Fort Benning Verified Rentals badge reflects a defined review completed at a particular point in time. It is designed to improve transparency and reduce listing-fraud risk, but it is not a warranty or guarantee.

Purpose of verification

Our verification process is intended to help prospective renters distinguish documented listings from anonymous or unsupported advertisements. We review information provided by the lister and compare relevant listing details with information available to us before assigning a badge.

Scope of review

Depending on the verification tier and service selected, our review may address:

• The identity of the person or organization submitting the listing.
• The lister’s apparent ownership of, or authority to market, the property.
• The consistency of material property and listing information.
• The relationship between listing media and the advertised property.
• The availability of a working contact channel associated with the listing.

Point-in-time status

A verification badge reflects the information reviewed when the badge was issued or most recently updated. Ownership, management authority, availability, pricing, property condition, contact information, and other circumstances may change afterward. Listers are responsible for keeping their information current.

What verification does not cover

Unless expressly stated in writing, verification does not constitute:

• An inspection, appraisal, title opinion, legal opinion, or property-condition report.
• A guarantee of availability, habitability, maintenance quality, pricing, or lease terms.
• A background check, credit review, or endorsement of a renter, owner, or manager.
• A promise that information cannot later become inaccurate or that fraud is impossible.
• A recommendation to enter into a lease or make any payment.

Your responsibility before renting

Verification should be one part of your evaluation, not a substitute for your own judgment. Before signing a lease or sending money:

• Review the property, listing details, and written lease carefully.
• Confirm the identity and contact information of the person you are dealing with.
• Verify the amount, purpose, recipient, and timing of every requested payment.
• Use a traceable payment method and retain copies of agreements and receipts.
• Stop and ask questions if information changes, does not match, or creates pressure to act immediately.

Badge use and listing changes

Badges may be used only for the listing and verification tier for which they were issued. We may request updated information, modify a badge, suspend a listing, or remove verification when information changes, cannot be reconfirmed, or appears inconsistent with our standards.

Report a concern

If you believe a listing is inaccurate, a badge is being misused, or a communication may be fraudulent, contact [email protected] or (706) 341-3711. Include the listing name and a concise description of the concern.
